2c_3.jpg (25057 bytes)35_3.jpg (17235 bytes)Hamilton 992B pocket watch, circa 1941.  The model 992B watch was designed originally as a railroad watch for the railway system in the United States.  A limited number of these were purchased and used by the US Army during WWII to assist in the massive logistical effort of moving men and marterials around Europe.  Here then is a an excellent example of such a watch. It is 21 jewels and adjusted to 6 positions.  The back of the case features proper ordenance markings and the movement is marked "US Gov.".  61_3.jpg (30531 bytes)This is a rare U.S. Army version of the famous 992B!

583f.jpg (61226 bytes)583m.jpg (61057 bytes)Helvatia General Service Timepiece circa 1939, 15 jewels, adjusted to positions, gold jewel cups, PS, screwed in jewels. Military pocket watch! Near mint movement with beautiful Geneve stripes. Nice dial is excellent/ near mint with no visible hairlines. Great original skeleton hands. The case has normal wear including a very small area near the center on the back from actual use as would be expected for a watch of this vintage that has seen actual military use.  This type of watch was used by British officers as an official field timepiece.  Interestingly, I've seen the same movement in pocket watches supplied to the German Army during the same time! Classic 583b.jpg (61074 bytes)Royal Military pocket watch which would be great to actually carry!
